DOT & Non-DOT Drug Testing
Compliant drug and alcohol testing for employers of all sizes — through LabCorp, one of the nation's largest laboratory networks with collection sites in every state.
DOT vs. Non-DOT Testing
We handle both federally mandated DOT programs and custom workplace testing for non-regulated employers.
Federally Mandated
Required by the FMCSA, FAA, FTA, and other DOT agencies. Must follow strict 49 CFR Part 40 procedures using a 5-panel urine test with certified laboratory analysis.
- ✓FMCSA Clearinghouse query required at hiring
- ✓5-panel urine test (DOT-approved substances)
- ✓Breath alcohol testing by certified BAT
- ✓Medical Review Officer (MRO) review of all results
- ✓Chain of custody documentation
- ✓Random testing program management available
Workplace Policy-Based
Custom drug testing programs for non-regulated employers. Panel types, collection methods, and testing frequency are configured to your company's policy.
- ✓5, 9, 10, or 12-panel urine testing
- ✓Oral fluid (mouth swab) testing available
- ✓Hair follicle testing for extended detection window
- ✓Instant / rapid on-site test kits available
- ✓Electronic CCF (chain of custody forms)
- ✓Policy consultation and program design
Testing Circumstances We Cover
A compliant program covers multiple testing triggers. We manage each type for you.
Pre-Employment
Required before a CDL driver operates a commercial vehicle. Must include FMCSA Clearinghouse query for DOT-regulated employers.
Random Testing
Federally mandated for DOT-regulated employers at set annual rates. We manage your random pool, selection, and scheduling.
Post-Accident
Required after accidents meeting certain severity thresholds. Time-sensitive — we help you respond quickly and correctly.
Reasonable Suspicion
Triggered by a trained supervisor's observations. We provide supervisor training and facilitate same-day testing.
Return-to-Duty
Required before a driver who violated the program can return to safety-sensitive functions. Includes SAP evaluation coordination.
Follow-Up Testing
Ongoing unannounced testing following a return-to-duty test. Frequency and duration set by the Substance Abuse Professional.
LabCorp Partnership
We test through LabCorp, one of the largest clinical laboratory networks in the country with thousands of patient service centers and employer collection sites nationwide. Your candidates can test close to home, quickly.
All DOT specimens are analyzed at SAMHSA-certified labs with Medical Review Officer review. Results are delivered electronically with full chain of custody documentation.
